QuBIT: QuBOT Superstar!

By Scott  //  news  //  No Comments

QuBIT is the product of years of dedicated research by Earth’s greatest scientific minds. Their design? He smashes crystals…with his face!

Introducing QuTI

Mine® was just another American mining corporation founded to exploit the untold mineral wealth of space until it discovered Obscurium and with it The Future. Obscurium makes plutonium look like a warm bath. Powered by this riotous molecule, Mine® grew into the monstrous conglomerate it is today. They needed a specialised machine to harvest this future-juice from the atrociously radioactive planets it was found on. Something that didn’t mind getting its face dirty. Something fast, strong and above all smart. QuBIT…(2 out of 3 aint bad).

Introducing QuBLING

By Scott  //  news  //  No Comments

No romance without finance , life ain’t nothin but QuBs and money.

Introducing QuTI

Mine® were used to the whims of billionaires. Even after ‘Midgetgate’, their board members’ behaviour was unfit for even the seediest of nightclubs. When the request came in for a solid gold QuBot, money no object, they obliged and Project QuBLNG was born. Some blamed the misgivings of the AI team for his outlandish personality, he was as vain and delusional as the gangstas he resembled. When payment didn’t materialise it was decreed no one reveal the unusual fate Mine® had intended for him. They had nuked the colony he was destined for so there was no reason to spoil his fun.

Introducing QuBYT

By Scott  //  news  //  No Comments

Next up for a qu-biog is QuBot model 10: QuBYT.  Never has a pseudo-sentient AI been so satisfied about being slightly better than the original:

Introducing QuTI

QuBYT was unveiled in front of the great and the good at Mine® HQ in Cleveland. Ever the showman, he burst into an 8-bit version of The Star-Spangled Banner. The crowd went wild and the Secretary of Defence was seen with a solitary tear making heavy weather of descending his thickly made-up face. It was a proud day for all involved but especially for QuBYT, who was now quite certain that he was a gift from the heavens to the people of Earth. “A towering, shimmering spire of science for mankind to treasure and revere” (his words not mine).

Connectivity issues

By Russell  //  news  //  No Comments

Hello QuBot pilots,

We are seeing some error reports affecting network operations when connecting via Edge or 3G.  This would mainly affect (a) purchasing the content (purchase may fail and ask you to re-try) and (b) receiving the early supporter prize (on startup after restarting/updating the app) if you bought the game before the end of July.

We aim to submit a bug fix update in a few days, when we have got to the bottom of this problem, but for now we advise everyone to try to connect via WiFi when updating the app or buying content.

Introducing QuTI

By Scott  //  news  //  No Comments

We’re going to run a little feature on each of the QuBots in the next few days.  Here’s an intro to our favourite quasi-psychotic lady-bot, QuTI.  She sure does like to smash stuff…

Introducing QuTI

When QuTI was booted up, the team gathered around to welcome her into the QuBot ‘family’. The girls, delighted at the arrival of a female QuBot, bought a puppy for her to play with. As QuTI’s eyes lit up and her engine began to purr the crowd burst into applause and the puppy yelped excitedly. QuTI thought the whole thing was unbearably saccharine and promptly smashed the irritating little puppy right through her grill, dropping to the floor with a metallic clunk as the puppy’s insides fused her circuitry.

The Symphony of Snow

By Jez  //  news  //  1 Comment

…wut wut wut wzio bom bom bom…Oh sorry! Just been listening to the new Symphony of Snow remix of Crystal Smasher by Rich Kemp. It, like him, is dreamy and awesome. Written to complement the softer feel of Frost, our new snow track, it tones down the industrial sound and bass volume of the original track and layers some Air-esque plinky-plonky electronica over the top. Turn on, tune in and smash crystals to this.

Check out all the other versions on Rich’s SoundCloud here: RichKemp
