OS Versions
So, QuBIT has a minimum OS version of 4.3 and apparently this makes it unusable on Verizon iPhones. Sorry guys! The good news is this will be fixed very soon.
There was a reason for this, in case you’re wondering. QuBIT uses shaders, so it needs GLES 2.0 to work, and this means 3rd generation devices or better (3GS or 3rd-generation iPod Touch). We set the minimum OS version to ensure that (for example) 2nd-generation iPod Touch owners don’t install the game and get disappointed. You can always put warnings in the description, but we know from experience that a lot of folks don’t read it carefully.
Anyway, we got it wrong, because we didn’t allow for Verizon users. We have submitted a fix for this already, so it should be on the store in a few days.
2nd-generation device owners: we have been working on adding support for GLES 1, and it’s very nearly done. We will ship this in the next few days, along with some bug fixes and a bit of bonus content. Stay tuned!

QuBIT Promo Code Bonanza
OMG QuBIT is in submission and slated for release this weekend!!! (I hope!!)
Please help us spread the good word by following us on Twitter and tweeting something good about QuBIT. We have two Promo Codes and one $10 or £10 iTunes gift code to give away every single day until release! We will award these to the most amusing, clever and original tweets, or the ones that get re-tweeted the most. To qualify you must (1) follow @_SecretSauce_ and (2) mention @_SecretSauce_ in your tweet, so we can track it. We will announce the winners after each day, and on release we will direct message everyone their codes.
The small print (ok it’s not that small):
- One code per person. Although, if you already won a code, but then you tweet something really amazing and we are super impressed, you could just maybe theoretically win another one. But it would have to be one seriously awesome tweet. Like, Wow.
- Gift codes are only available in the US and the UK. Sorry, Rest Of The World! If you win a code, we will ask you which territory. Here is how you redeem Gift Codes, in case you don’t know.
If we have any spare prizes (and I think we’re bound to have a few), we will award them to people who post fun comments on our dev blog or in the forum, which is currently looking emptier than Tim Langdell’s intellectual property portfolio.

QuBIT Trailer!
Dear World,
We made a pre-launch trailer for QuBIT! And we are probably looking at next Monday (July 11th) for iOS release, although it could be sooner, depending on how the wind blows crystals smash.

New Media
It’s been a while since we last updated! We spent the last week polishing and ironing out bugs, getting ready to submit, and we’ve been neglecting the old blog a bit, but there should be some more updates now things are calming down.
First up, we have new screenshots in the gallery. These are iPad2 shots, showing off the GUI and the nice shaders. New video coming soon!

Close to the edit
We are pushing hard for a submission candidate this week, and a lot of stuff is flying in quickly. We have a whole new UI, we finalised the tutorial, we (almost) locked down the scoring and difficulty ramp, the achievements are in final balancing, all the assets are getting final polish… this is that special time when everything comes together and the whole experience jumps up several notches on the quality meter, and the taste of red bull and pizza mingle together and merge with the dizziness from a month of late nights to form a sort of higher state of consciousness, and then time seems to slow down and world becomes sharp and clear and you realise that everything is nothing and the universe contracts to a point of pure infinity… and you wake up and realise you fell asleep at your desk.
In other words, it’s high time for a few pictures of the team looking their best!

Tragedy Strikes!
Significant risk of delay to RC, after the Secret Sauce robo-development unit is terrorised and partly devoured by a pack of rampaging plastic dinosaurs. Clever girl!
